Message Templates

Create and manage WhatsApp message templates

Overview

WhatsApp requires pre-approved templates for business-initiated conversations. Veya helps you create, submit, and manage these templates.

Template Types

Marketing Templates

For promotional content:

  • Product announcements
  • Sales and discounts
  • Event invitations

Utility Templates

For transactional messages:

  • Order confirmations
  • Shipping updates
  • Appointment reminders

Authentication Templates

For security:

  • OTP codes
  • Login verification

Creating Templates

Step 1: Template Content

  1. Go to Settings > Templates
  2. Click Create Template
  3. Enter template name
  4. Select category (Marketing, Utility, Authentication)
  5. Choose language

Step 2: Template Body

Write your message using variables:

Hello {{1}},

Your order #{{2}} has been shipped!

Track your package: {{3}}

Thank you for shopping with us.

Variables are numbered placeholders ({{1}}, {{2}}, etc.)

Step 3: Components (Optional)

Add optional components:

  • Header - Text, image, document, or video
  • Buttons - Call-to-action or quick reply
  • Footer - Short footer text

Step 4: Submit for Approval

  1. Review your template
  2. Click Submit for Approval
  3. Wait for Meta review (usually 24-48 hours)

Template Status

Using Templates

In Inbox

  1. Open a conversation
  2. Click Template button
  3. Select a template
  4. Fill in variables
  5. Send

In Workflows

  1. Add Send WhatsApp Message block
  2. Select Template type
  3. Choose template
  4. Map variables from workflow data

In Campaigns

  1. Create a campaign
  2. Select WhatsApp channel
  3. Choose your template
  4. Fill variables (or use CSV columns)

Best Practices

  1. Be clear and concise - Keep messages short
  2. Use proper variables - Test all variable combinations
  3. Follow guidelines - Read Meta's template policies
  4. Localize - Create templates for each language you need
